Senior Accounting Manager (Orange County)
up to $135,000 + Benefits - Construction Industry | Direct Hire
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and oversee financial reporting for a growing construction organization. This highly visible leadership role will partner closely with executive management to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process improvements that support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Manage job cost accounting and monitor project financial performance to ensure accuracy and profitability.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls.
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Coordinate external audits and serve as a key point of contact for auditors and business partners.
Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial initiatives, process enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
Construction industry accounting experience required.
Strong knowledge of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP.
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
CPA designation preferred but not required.
Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
